I get asked this question a lot. There are a lot of different ways to answer this question.
A doula is someone that is constantly supporting the mother before, during, and after her birth.
Birth is full of curveballs and we can't always, if ever, predict what is going to come up.
Therefore a doula plays the important role of being the single most constant and consistent supports to the mother. Encouraging, loving, and holding the mother up while she conquers the universe and brings back with her, her precious little baby.
A Soulful Connection – I offer complimentary consultations to inquiring mothers, honoring the belief that the bond between mother and doula is sacred. This relationship is built on deep trust, intuition, and mutual resonance. I encourage every mother to seek a doula who feels like a natural extension of her journey—someone who aligns with her energy, values, and vision for birth.
Intentional Prenatal Sessions – We will meet twice before your birth, creating space to connect deeply, explore your desires, and release any fears. These meetings are an opportunity to weave intentions, discuss your birth plan, and attune ourselves to the desires and wishes of your unfolding journey. Together, we will cultivate trust and harmony, ensuring that our partnership is rooted in presence and understanding.
Unwavering Presence and being On Call for You – From 37 weeks until baby arrives, I remain in devoted readiness, holding space for you with continuous support. Whether through text, voice, or presence, I am here—attuned to your needs, offering guidance, reassurance, and unwavering care. Should things begin to happen prior to 37 weeks I will try my best to come to you as soon as possible.
Holding Sacred Space at Birth – When your birthing time arrives, I come to you as both witness and guide, holding a calm and loving space. I remain with you through the journey, supporting your flow, honoring your strength, and ensuring you feel safe and empowered. After birth, I stay for 1-2 hours, ensuring you and your family are settled into this special transition.
Postpartum Integration – Within the weeks following birth, I return to sit with you—to listen, to honor your experience, and to offer grounding support as you step into this new chapter. This visit is a space for reflection, care, and gentle guidance as you and your baby continue to bond.
